Economic aspects of development of sheep breeding in personal subsidiary farms in the Kirov region

The analysis of security of the population of the Kirov region in production of animal husbandry revealed low level of food self-sufficiency of the region with meat and meat products, high degree of dependence on import deliveries. Sheep breeding is one of the most vulnerable branches of meat animal husbandry because of reduction of a livestock of sheep in personal subsidiary farms, low extent of saturation of the market with mutton. Researches of authors showed that sheep breeding development in personal subsidiary farms is considerably differentiated in dependence of agroclimatic zones of the region. The main livestock of sheep is concentrated in personal subsidiary farms of the Southern zone. The problem of development of sheep breeding in the territory of the southern areas of the region consists in absence of distribution structures. Creation of agricultural consumer household cooperative will promote increase in a livestock of sheep, market saturation by mutton, development of personal subsidiary farms.
