The important role in development of the agroindustrial complex of Non-Chernozem region of Russia allotted to winter rye. In recent years, in connection with high cost of mineral fertilizers and means of plant protection, agricultural producers paid more attention to the biological function of agriculture. One of the main means of biological function agriculture is the use of green-manures.
The researches of the influence of complete, green-manure, occupy and long fallows on the growth and development of winter rye, the contamination of sowing and productivity of winter rye in the conditions of the north-eastern Non-Chernozem zone of Russian federation were conducted. The efficiency of using the green-manure fallow was revealed. So, cultivation of winter rye on green-manure fallow essentially increased photosynthetic capacity and net photosynthetic productivity of culture. The use of green manures improves the phytosanitary condition of winter rye crops. When cultivating at green-manure fallow the contamination of sowing was significantly lower in comparison with the placement at occupy fallow. When cultivating winter rye on long fallow, it is necessary to pay attention to the contamination of sowing.  Replacement of complete without fertilizers and occupy fallows with the green-manure fallow, and cultivation of winter rye on it allowed to obtain a statistically significant increase of productivity of grain.
