Complex of biologically active substances with antioxidant properties in feeding of down-calving cows

In conditions of intensification of milk production the load on physiological systems of dairy cows increase and stocks of bioantioxidants in their body reduce. Along with their deficiency in the diet the activity of antioxidant protection system (APS) of the body decreases. The most significant changes occur during pregnancy. The aim of the research was to study the effect of feeding complex of biologically active substances (BAS) with antioxidant properties on the body of down-calving cows. The scientific experiment was conducted on two similar groups of black-and-white holsteinized milk cows with 8 months of pregnancy. Within 30 days prior to calving cows in the control group, received base premix in the composition of the basic ration used on the farm; animals of the experimental group received an experimental complex of biologically active substances instead of premix. The survey revealed a specific influence of the complex of biologically active substances on the state of the antioxidant defense system of the organism of animals: due to the greater stability of ceruloplasmin and thiol groups of proteins the concentration of malonic dialdehyde in the blood of cows of the experimental group decreased by 13% in comparison with the period before the experiment. Higher stable of antiradical body systems of down-calving cows of the experimental group contributed to the achievement of 100% of the preventive efficiency against generic pathology in the form of detention of the placenta and further development of acute forms of endometritis, compared with 73% preventive effectiveness of the basic premix. The number of cows that came to hunt within 3 months after calving in the experimental group was 26.7% higher; the period from calving to first insemination was shorter by 20 days; average daily milk yield in the first month of lactation was higher by 4.7% than in the control group of animals.
